Carlos Moreno

Author & Co-Executive Director, Big Picture Learning

Carlos Moreno is a dynamic education leader dedicated to creating high-quality, innovative schools that address systemic equity issues. As co-executive director of Big Picture Learning, he has helped develop over 200 schools worldwide. He also co-founded the Deep Learning Equity Fellowship and the Ashé Leaders Fellowship, empowering educators to drive sustainable change.

A passionate storyteller, Carlos created the Leadership Journeys initiative, featuring influential voices in education, and authored the ASCD best-seller Finding Your Leadership Soul. Beyond his impressive credentials, “Los” is a community builder, lifelong learner, and advocate for student-centered leadership.

Luli Ortiz is a General Assignment Reporter and 3 p.m. anchor at CBS12 News, where she's covered major stories like the Parkland shooting and COVID-19 pandemic. Over her 10-year journalism career, she’s reported on hurricanes, politics, public safety, and child sex trafficking, earning recognition from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists and regional Emmys. A bilingual Miami-native with Cuban and Puerto Rican roots, Luli joined WPEC from WTOV-TV in Ohio. She holds degrees in Communications and Psychology from the University of Miami and is passionate about stories of inspiration, veterans, and domestic violence awareness. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and time with loved ones.
