Councilwoman Maria Antuña | september 12 | 5pm | Historic courthouse of palm beach county
Maria S. Antuña was elected to Seat 4 of the Village of Wellington Council in 2024. Born in Matanzas, Cuba, she immigrated to the USA in 1962 and spent decades in banking before retiring to lead the Hispanic Chamber of Palm Beach County, a 584-member organization. In 2015, she became Executive Director and quickly rose to CEO.
Maria's advocacy in education, health, and business growth has significantly impacted Palm Beach County. Under her leadership, the Chamber was recognized as one of seven recipients of the USHCC/MBDA partnership, offering critical services to small businesses during the pandemic. Her dedication to minority-owned businesses has earned her numerous awards.
A Wellington resident since 1978, Maria is active in her community, serving on various boards and committees. She has been recognized as a Hispanic Community Leader by Senator Rick Scott and honored by West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James. She also serves on the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Wellington Rotary Club, the Criminal Justice Commission Board of PBC, and as Vice-Chair of the Architectural Review Board for the Village of Wellington.

Lisa LaFrance is currently active in the Palm Beach non-profit community as a donor, leader, and connector. Since early-2019, she has been a member of Impact the Palm Beaches, serving as Co-Chair of Grants, Vice President, and most recently President of this collective giving circle. She is a Thought Leader for the Daily Drip, a Board Member of Extraordinary Charities, and an Advisory Council member for Resource Depot.
Lisa’s professional background is in Investment Management. She was a Founder and Director at Bogle Investment Management, L.P., a Boston-area hedge fund, where she was responsible for Client Service, Marketing and Compliance. Prior to helping launch the Bogle firm, she was an Investment Officer at Strategic Investment Management, a Virginia-based asset allocation specialist and manager-of-managers providing investment services to institutional investors and high net worth individuals. Her previous experience also includes public relations and communications consulting. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Smith College.

Julie Fisher Cummings | march 6 | 5pm | location TBA
Julie Fisher Cummings, MSSW (Columbia University), serves as Board Chair for the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation. She co-founded and chairs the Lovelight Foundation, focusing on domestic child sex trafficking, underserved women and girls, and early childhood education. Julie also co-founded the Florida Women’s Funding Alliance and the Southeastern Michigan Early Childhood Funders Collaborative.
With over 40 years of civic leadership, she has held board positions with United Way, Community Foundations, Women Moving Millions, and The Lord’s Place. Julie has received numerous honors, including Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Woman of Distinction and the Anti-Defamation League’s Woman of Achievement. She is married to Peter D. Cummings, with whom she has three children and six grandchildren.

The Honorable Sheree Davis Cunningham | May 1 | 5pm | location TBA
Judge Sheree Davis Cunningham made history in 1993 as the first African American woman appointed to the Palm Beach County Court bench by Governor Lawton Chiles. For 26 years, she served with dedication, upholding fairness and the rule of law. A Rutgers and Howard University Law graduate, she began her career as a prosecutor before rising through the ranks in Palm Beach County’s Major Crimes Unit.
Judge Cunningham’s appointment was pivotal, diversifying the bench and mentoring countless African American lawyers. She presided over Domestic Violence Court, impacting the lives of many vulnerable victims, and earned numerous accolades for her community service and commitment to justice.
A devout Christian and proud mother of three, she is deeply involved in her church and several professional organizations. Judge Cunningham retired in 2019, leaving behind a lasting legacy of integrity, compassion, and fairness in Palm Beach County’s legal community.
