ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Maria S. Antuña was elected to Seat 4 of the Village of Wellington Council in 2024. Born in Matanzas, Cuba, she immigrated to the USA in 1962 and spent decades in banking before retiring to lead the Hispanic Chamber of Palm Beach County, a 584-member organization. In 2015, she became Executive Director and quickly rose to CEO.

Maria's advocacy in education, health, and business growth has significantly impacted Palm Beach County. Under her leadership, the Chamber was recognized as one of seven recipients of the USHCC/MBDA partnership, offering critical services to small businesses during the pandemic. Her dedication to minority-owned businesses has earned her numerous awards.

A Wellington resident since 1978, Maria is active in her community, serving on various boards and committees. She has been recognized as a Hispanic Community Leader by Senator Rick Scott and honored by West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James. She also serves on the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Wellington Rotary Club, the Criminal Justice Commission Board of PBC, and as Vice-Chair of the Architectural Review Board for the Village of Wellington.

Master Path is a quarterly Speaker Series hosted by Path to College intended for personal growth, professional development, and community impact. Join us to learn from local experts and leaders to learn more about how you can support the talent pipeline for the future of Palm Beach County!

We are Path to College; we fearlessly clear the path for overlooked students to get into the best colleges with the best scholarships. Our students apply to college at 200% over the national average, receive 100% acceptance to and enroll in 4-year universities, with 60% admissions to top-tier institutions and 50% with full-ride scholarships (others obtain 70-90% tuition coverage). Mentorship plays a foundational role in the success of our program. We believe education is the answer, and college is for everyone.
