Lyndsey Saunders
Lyndsey Saunders, Program Manager, & previous College Coach from the Literacy Coalition and AmeriCorps partnership. I am very excited to work with Path to College as a College Coach this year. I was in a similar program like Path to College when I was in high school, and it completely changed the trajectory of my life! I grew up in Northern Virginia and spent most of high school in the band room behind a marimba. Nowadays, I spend my free time playing different instruments and singing Adele at the top of my lungs. I am a recent graduate of Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While in undergrad, I majored in Sociology and double minored in Gender Studies and African/African American Studies. This academic path led me to the research that I have worked on for the past two years: developing literature on the effects that the legacy of redlining has on the disparate educational outcomes experienced in redlined cities all over the country. I hope to get my doctorate and continue this research so that I can teach people of all ages about this issue.
